This is the "Home Page" of the Tuesday-Thursday Rides Group. We're a group of cycling enthusiast who ride together on a regular basis! We decided that we don't want to be structured with a membership roster, officers, newsletters, rules, etc. We just want to ride on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We have routes that we ride regularly but are open for suggestions, as to new routes.
Okay, you're asking: If they don't want any structure or rules, what the heck is this website for? It's because we want you to join us on a ride. You've found our website, so you're probably a cyclist. Come on out any Tuesday or Thursday and ride with us. We can't promise you a club jersey or anything else, for that matter, just a fun, scenic bike ride with a group of cycling enthusiast & friends.
Our Tuesday Ride starts from the corner of Proctor and Redwood Roads in Castro Valley. The Thursday Ride starts from the Rite Aid parking lot at 3848 Castro Valley Blvd. We meet at 8:20am and the ride starts promptly at 8:30am, but during the winter our rides start at 9:00am. On Tuesday we usually ride to Moraga CA, where we stop for coffee & then return over the same route. About 30 miles with 2800' of climbing, very little traffic once we leave town, and lots of great scenery. Thursdays find us heading out to Pleasanton & Sunol. This ride is around 38 miles with less climbing. Both days we generally do the same routes but sometimes we change the rides up. We are back at the starting location between 11:30am and 12:30pm. We regroup and no one gets left behind.
That's the scoop. Sometimes we have as few as 3-4 riders, sometimes as many as 15, but usually around 10 riders. We really like having new people ride with us, so that's our invitation to you.
